TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
POSITION SUMMARY: Working closely with the Director of Training & Development, this position is responsible for providing mentorship and delivering targeted training to firm members through virtual and onsite training, one-on-one coaching, reference guides, and learning modules with a primary focus toward paralegals and legal administrative assistants. This position also assists with workflow management and the implementation of policies and procedures within the paralegal and legal administrative assistant groups.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identifies the training needs and designs training materials to meet the needs of firm personnel to be used in group and one-on-one training sessions.
• Assists in identifying staffing needs and collaborates with attorneys to ensure the efficient and cost effective allocation of work assignments, smooth workflow coordination, and maximum utilization of resources for paralegals and legal administrative assistants.
• Monitors workflow within the administrative assistant (floater) group and assists with prioritization of incoming requests as needed.
• Supports all legal support staff in helping them to attain professional development goals.
• Serves as a liaison between the legal support staff and other administrative departments and works closely with those departments to identify and resolve issues and implement best practices in providing legal services support.
• Serves as a resource to the Help Desk for user assistance and questions.
• Provide hands-on, one-on-one, and classroom computer training to new hires for the firm’s supported programs.
• Assists in developing learning plans that include core competencies for each staff position to address identified training opportunities. • Maintains all components of the Learning Management Software (LMS), including records of completed training.
• Provide feedback to all departments when modifications could improve the user-friendliness of the programs, applications, and processes for which training is provided.
• Ensures training and support materials are organized and accessible to end-users.
• Learn other software as it is introduced in the firm and become skilled enough to be able to train others.
• Coordinates training for new legal support staff and identifies training opportunities for current legal support staff; ensures proper orientation and understanding of firm guidelines, standards, and practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
