Lori Hamm has been with the Montana Secretary of State’s office for 15 years and leads the education, outreach, compliance, and administrative functions of the Notary Division. She developed the state’s live and online education programs as well as the website and handbook that have increased the knowledge and skills of thousands of Montana notaries public over the past 13 years. She pioneered the concept of a statewide notary conference and hosted the fourth one in April, 2019. Recognized nationally as a trailblazer, Hamm was an advocate for remote notarization early on and was instrumental in the enactment and implementation of the 2015 and subsequently the 2019 remote notarization statutes in Montana. She currently serves as the Treasurer for the Notary Public Administrators’ Section of the National Association of Secretaries of State.
